Welcome to Travel Tuesday! We’re still virtually in Utah this week in Goblin Valley State Park — today isn’t so much of a hike as it is an exploration of the Valley of the Goblins.
Valley of the Goblins Hike in Goblin Valley State Park
Distance: 1 mile (loop)
Elevation: 62 ft
Difficulty: Easy
Duration: However long you’d like to meander
Trailhead Address: Goblin Valley Rd, Green River, UT 84525
Parking: Lot available ($15 day use fee to enter the park)
Goblin Valley State Park is kinda in the middle of nowhere — I actually found it by chance when I was looking for a place to visit in between Arches National Park and Capitol Reef National Park, so it was a fun place to stop by!
There’s no actual “trail” here aside from the walkway down into the valley. It’s a fun place to wander through with lots of strange formations to check out. I saw a lot of kids here and they definitely seemed to be having a blast! (Good place to bring em’ especially if you need them to burn off a whole lot of energy!)
I would recommend against climbing on the “goblins” so as to not potentially destroy anything.
There’s not too much shade here unless you duck behind the formations. This is the desert, so be sure to plan accordingly!
- Check out my other Utah explorations!
- See where I’ve gone on my road trip so far!

Anytime! :P Thanks for stopping by!
I seriously need to do a Northern Utah parks road trip. I’ve heard good things about the Gobin Valley state park and this post just confirms it. I love that all the rocks really do look like Goblins!
I hope you get to sometime when it’s safer to travel again! This was a really fun park to visit! :]

This is interesting. Being surrounded by more popular national parks, this one is a hidden gem. Great find! Thank you.
It was definitely a fun stop in between! :]
You’ve got me on this one! Not only have we not visited that park, but I’ve never heard of it! I love the pictures and now I want to go there.

I can’t believe this place exists on Earth, it truly looks like Mars. You’re so lucky to live by all these great hiking spots. So jealous!
Doesn’t it?! I don’t actually live anywhere near here, but it was cool to get to visit on my trip!
