Welcome to the Ultimate Coffee Date! The last couple days have felt like eons. How have you all been doing?
Ultimate Coffee Date: November 2020
If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d…ask if you’ve been following the election. The amount of doomscrolling I’ve been doing over the past couple weeks has been terrible.
I’ve been so disheartened this year by so many of the things that have happened and the way people have been acting. (But even more so, with the fact that so many people in this country are apparently ok with it/actually support it.) With the way 2020 has been going, I’m still apprehensive about even being optimistic, so I guess I’ll believe it if/when it actually happens. The memes out there are pretty glorious though.
If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d…tell you that the battle to keep my MA (medical assistant) was lost. :[ The reasoning was not logical because it was indeed because of office politics.
She has since left for a different department and I’m super sad that even the sliver of chance to get to work with her is gone now. On the flip side, she’s much much happier over there, so I’m really glad for that!

So sorry about the loss of your MA, but a silver lining for her, apparently.
And so far doing a happy dance since it looks like Biden is the winner. I’m not in love with him, really, but I sure knew what I didn’t want. A bit apprehensive about what will happen between now and 1/20, though.

Thank you! I’m really glad that she likes her new position though, so at least there’s a positive out of the whole mess!
I’m really happy that Biden should be the winner too but also apprehensive about how things are going to be from now til January. ._. Fingers crossed!
Fortunately the election outcome can be a source of hope that we can move forward and try to reset all the chaos we’ve experienced the past 4 years! This has been the longest week ever!

I’m sorry to hear about your MA. Office politics are lame. I’m glad she’s happy where she is though.
And yeah, I’m optimistic but also still anxious. I just need Biden in the White House and for things to start evening out. I just don’t get how people support the current president. I didn’t get it four years ago, but I REALLY don’t get it now. I think people just have so many conspiracy theories and ideas about Democrats, that they’ll take a horrible man in office instead. I don’t know. It’s crazy.

I really miss her but I’m glad she’s happier in her new position too! Office politics suck, haha.
I don’t remember it ever being this bad in the past but sometimes I wonder if I was just blissfully unaware at the time? :[ I need Biden to be in the WH too. Cheeto’s time there has been way overdue. ._. What I’m worried about is that the republicans will block every single thing that Biden tries to do (and he’ll likely inherit all the aftermath of the cheeto too) over the next four years and it’ll anger people that “nothing was done” while he was in office so we may end up with someone even worse (I’d like to think this isn’t possible, but… :\ ).
