Happy Friday! I’ve finishing up on a research block that’s kinda been sapping most of my free time and will be working a 24-hour shift today, so I sadly do not have a recipe for you for Foodie Friday (feel free to link up at the bottom though!), so I’m moving my Ultimate Coffee Date up a day!
Ultimate Coffee Date: May 2018
If we were having tea today, I’d…I just finished what I’d probably consider my least favorite rotation this entire year outside of hospital service. I’ll get around to writing about it sometime, but it was the cause for a lot of unneeded extra stress and work. (The fact that I hate research probably didn’t help.)
In other news, we had our annual RU Salsa Project earlier this week, otherwise known as the annual salsa showcase for the Rutgers Salsa Club!
I was in the beginner group last spring and graduated to the intermediate group in the fall. Our dance this year
was to Despacito (click the link if you wanna watch the video! :] )!
Salsa has definitely been a good source of stress relief this year–I’m hoping to “graduate” again to the advanced
group this upcoming fall, but I guess we shall see!
If we were having tea today, I’d tell you that…a couple weeks ago, I dragged a friend with me to spend my birthday back at Please Save A Cat with Linda! It was great to see her again–we have geese now as well as our super cute duckies (and chickens and guineas). I named one of them Smoot. <3 As always, Hermie (pictured at the top of this post!) was there to greet me in the mornings (mostly in hopes of food)–he always has such an intense gaze!
We had some super delicious meals around the kitchen counter and also at my favorite restaurant in Lewisburg, Fujiyama! It was an awesome time and I definitely appreciated the long weekend escape. (It was so hard to come back, haha.)
We climbed Old Rag Mountain for my birthday, and also hiked the Endless Wall Trail and visited Cathedral Falls the next day! I’ll have 3 upcoming Travel Tuesday posts up some, but in the meantime, here are some sneak previews!
I got the above pair of hiking boots from REI and I love and adore how comfortable they are. *-*
See past ultimate coffee dates here!

Thanks! Me too! It was nice to get away, but so hard to come back! :P
I don’t know what rotation you are on but this has to be the first time I’ve heard you dislike anything! You’re always so positive. I’m very interested to hear more…
Have a fabulous weekend!
haha, the only one in med school was psychiatry (more due to my preceptor than the rotation itself) and in residency, it’s mostly just been inpatient rotations that I wasn’t too much of a fan of. My dislike of research probably didn’t help much with my interest in this past rotation, but at least it’s over now (for the time being) and I got my drafts done! *-*

I hope your 24 hours went well and all your research is finished!!
I will watch your salsa video when I’m out of the studio :)
Thanks, Esther! It thankfully went well, although I have another one coming up this weekend, so we’ll see how that goes, hahaha. :P I’m done with the research for now (3 drafts later) and waiting on feedback–hopefully it goes well! I can’t wait til it’s done!!

Salsa dancing sounds like so much fun! I would love to get my husband to go to ballroom dancing lessons with me but he protests every time I bring it up. haha
Definitely sounds like you had a great birthday! Nice backpack, too!
Aww, ballroom dancing is super fun too! I hope you can convince him eventually, hahaha. :P
I adore it! I love Osprey–just wish they were a little more affordable! *-*

Dancing is a great stress reliever and so much fun. I don’t dance salsa but I do dance around the house a lot heheh. YOu look fab in that dress and high heels just so you know ;) Happy birthday – and yes, rock climbing for birthday sounds like fun time. Food looks great too ;)
haha, aww, thank you! And yeah! I definitely agree–it’s been a stressful couple of months, but dancing (and all my other extra-curriculars :P ) really helps with de-stressing! :D

Yes..so ready for spring! I haven’t really traveled much this year – closing on a house, so I have to adult. I think summer will be musty getting settled and training!
