Ultimate Coffee Date: January 2025

Welcome to the first Ultimate Coffee Date of 2025 + I hope you had a great start to your new year! :]

Ultimate Coffee Date: January 2025

I got a super cute mushroom bowl to bake brie in, so I’ve been making it for potlucks! Easiest appetizer ever + looks fancy and tastes amazing. I put orange jam on this one! :] I have a kahlua baked brie recipe too…

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d tell you that…I went to a craft fair with a few friends last month and it made me want to pick up a bunch of new hobbies. I managed to exercise a modicum of restraint though…

Maybe one day I’ll get better at crocheting and can make something much simpler than these!? lol

This made me laugh probably more than I should’ve…

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d tell you that…at our last coffee date, I mentioned I was going to start taking horseback riding lessons again! (The plan is to start in February, so I went with my friend to Dover Saddlery and we got fitted for boots!)

As luck would have it, I am apparently the size of a large child, so I got to buy my boots from the children’s section ($50 cheaper <3 ). Since safety is important and all, we also got fitted for helmets!

These are the same size (L) helmet but it looked comically ginormous on me, so my friends made some necessary edits. I will be getting the medium size helmet rather than the large…

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d tell you that…the vibe at work has still been exceedingly + unnecessarily uncomfortable due to the person who had also wanted this position, so much so that the rest of our department (located over in the other building) noticed and invited me to their holiday party so I could spend time in a more positive space, eat delicious food, and hang out with super adorable pets. It was super sweet of them and it’s been kinda better this week (mainly because said person is on vacation)!

On a completely unrelated note, there is a Thai temple in Berkeley that sells food on Sundays (they use the proceeds as donations to the temple). The food is glorious + delicious — I was super glad to get to snag one of their mango with sticky rice for dessert! *-* (The dent is from the container holding the coconut cream, hehe.)

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d tell you that…I’m regularly able to make it up 5.11a’s now! This opens up a whole new world of possibilities (or so it feels)! :D

  1. Ugh, so sorry the work stress goes on. Is there a supervisor who can tell the other person to get over it?

    Yay on the climbing!

Where will you go horseback riding?

I am glad you carving out more time for yourself to do the things you love and balance out stress from work. Happy new year to you

  2. Sorry about the work stress. No one needs that in their life! Hope it eases up as time goes on.
Sounds like you have a lot of adventures coming up in 2025 (as always!) I’m still working on my plans and goals. I know… the year has already started. I better get with it!

  3. You are crushing it! I wish I could get boots in the children’s section! As it is, I can comfortably buy men’s and women’s sizes lol!

I can’t wait to hear how your horse adventures go! I miss riding!

  4. YOU do a great job of keeping busy, even in your free time ;-) Ugh, work stress (from co-workers) is really tough to bear (as if ones job itself isn’t enough, right?). I’m glad you still had a fun party to go to…that was a very nice gesture on the peeps including you ;-)

  5. How fun to have a definite plan for picking horseback riding up in February!

I’m so sorry to hear about your work situation. Isn’t there anything that can be done about it?
