Hi everyone! What’s been going in your life? Pull up a chair and come catch up with life with me for the Ultimate Coffee Date!
If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d tell you that…I’ve never really been in the habit of making New Year’s resolutions…I do 101 in 1001’s instead! (I did recently join Achievemint to earn monies for doing healthy things I’ve already been doing–I’ll have a post on that on Monday!)
(101 in 1001 = 101 goals that I want to accomplish in 1001 days–roughly 2.5 years.)
This is my most recent one that I’ll be updating over the next couple years!
If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d tell you that…it was AWESOME getting to go back home to see my family/friends again! This generally only gets to happen twice a year for me, so I tend to load every day with a billion meetups to make those moments count!
This also means I never catch up on sleep, but meh. It’s worth it in my book! <3
I went to hang out/take several classes at one of my second homes, Twirly Girls Pole Fitness…
We learned a super cute routine to Santa Baby! :]
(+ I finally managed to treat Bel to lunch!) It involved me being all super-stealth when she got up to go to the restroom, but she came out too quickly so I told her I was up at the register to flag down our server to get her the side of sour cream they’d forgotten. :D
I also got a new tank + sweats from Bel! :]
I may or may not have also fallen into a good number of food comas… It was cozy and warm. #dontjudgeme
There were lots of food adventures and friends-visiting to be had! :]!
For instance, an annual gathering of some of my college friends–we live all over northern CA (or did), so we try to pick a place somewhere in the middle-ish each year to meet up. Past locations have included Walnut Creek, Sausalito, Napa…this year, we decided to take it back to where it all began–Davis!
I even managed to squeeze in a quick trip down to socal to visit two of my college roommates (sadly I do not have pictures, but much food and catching up was involved, as was this adorable puppy:
I also visited two other super-awesome friends in college (and we finally got to plan our trip to Europe–I’m so excited! We’re planning on frolicking in the Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye on my birthday! <3!)!
We went to Cici’s Cafe for brunch and I got Green Tea Tiramisu Pancakes! :D
The food there was absolutely amazing–I was somewhat overwhelmed by all the delicious choices but that’s a-okay. :P
We went for a 6-mile bike ride some time afterward because physical activity is kinda refreshing when you’ve been stuffing your face for a few days weeks straight. :P
All in all, it was awesome to get to spend time with loved ones over the holidays! I’m probably going to be working most (if not all) of the holidays this year to give my fellow residents a chance to take off, so I was definitely glad for this time!
I have a few travel posts (a walking-ish tour of SF + a camping trip!) and some recipes from this trip scheduled for future posts, so stay tuned! :]

The pancakes were so amazing! (Bring me with you!!! hahaha :P )
The dogs were so thrilled to come along for the ride! This is basically the internal argument I have going on in my head–I love ginormous dogs but having one that could fit in my basket would also be pretty cool. I’ll figure that out someday. Or maybe just adopt both. <3
Thanks so much! I'm hoping I won't neglect it too much over the next couple months--my schedule's going to be a little insane til April! x_x
Yay, I’m so glad you were able to get away and have an awesome (yet short) break with loved ones! xoxo So deserved!
Author
It definitely felt way too short! :[ But it was nice to get to live it up for a bit–I definitely tried to make every moment count! :P

It’s great when you get to go home and spend time with all your friends and family. It looks like you had a blast! That pole class would have really intimidated me, lol!
I think we all had a few too many food comas over the holidays!

Agreed! It was definitely a ton of fun! I didn’t know what to expect with that class, but I adore my instructor and she fosters such a fun and nonjudgmental atmosphere that it’s impossible not to have a blast! <3

Those green tea tiramisu pancakes look amazing! All the food on your post looks amazing!
I only have one big trip planned this year, but it’s going to be a thru hike of the Tahoe Rim Trail in CA/NV. I’m super excited as I’ve been to both states but long before I was ever a hiker. It’s going to be so fun to get outside and hike at altitude. We don’t see mountains that high on the east coast!
I love your 1001 ideas! I might be borrowing a few :D

They were so good! I’m in love with that cafe, haha.
That’s so cool! Are you going to blog about it? (I can’t wait to read! :P ) I’ve lived in CA for most of my life but never did too much hiking (sigh) until the past couple years, when I was…no longer living in CA (sigh). I can’t wait to live vicariously through you! :P
Go for it! :D
I typically make resolutions, but this year, I’m bucking the trend! I do like the idea of coming up with a word or a theme for the year, though. So I’ll be working on that — leaning toward the word “consistency”
Author
I like that idea too, and consistency is such a great one to focus on! (I need to do that too with my workout schedule!!)
Christmas was great but went too fast. I am not making a resolution this year..I htink committing to a new blog covers that somehow. We are supposed to go to Florida to visit my in laws but not sure if hubs work schedule will allow it. I’ll be blogging about that trip if we go. Happy New Year!

Sounds like a great break! I’d choose friends over sleep too! Love your 101 in 1001 idea.
Definitely! It was completely worth it, haha. :P

How fun! All the residents in my clinic were off over the holidays too. It’s nice that you get a chance to regroup and catch up! Happy New Year!
Thanks! I’d requested Christmas/New Year’s off but didn’t actually expect to have it happen! Definitely was nice to get to see my friends/family again! :] Hope you had a wonderful holiday season! <3

Yay for fun times with your favorite people. And puppies, and waffles.
I have been curious about Achievement since I saw an ad for it on FB, but the site didn’t really give me that much info, so I kind of stopped there, lol. Interested to hear more about it!

Agreed! :D!
Yeah, the site doesn’t have too much detail and I found limited info on other blogs so I decided to just check it out myself, haha. I’m finishing up my post on it as we speak–scheduled for tomorrow! :]
So much good has been happening in your world recently!
We do have very exciting travel plans for this year! We’ll be in Cali/Nevada/New York/Florida/Louisiana around August and then we’re spending Christmas on the beach in Queensland!

I’ve never heard of 101 in 1001, sounds awesome and so much better than New Year Resolutions. I remember when you frequented Twirly Girl Pole Fitness, you loved it. Those Green Tea Tiramisu Pancakes look delectable.
I hope I get to end up back in the bay area again someday so I’ll be able to continue frequenting it! :D

Sounds like you had an awesome holiday! I love the holidays and getting to spend time with my family but it just seemed like it went by too fast last year :( A trip to Europe sounds so awesome! I’ve always dreamed of going there and visiting different places and it would be even more fun to do it with friends! Those two puppies are freaking adorable and of course like all of the food you post here, it looks super delicious! Can’t wait to see what the new year has in store for us! :)

It’ll be the first time I’m traveling out of the country without my family, so definitely a different dynamic, haha. I’m super super excited about it! <3
Me too! I'm looking forward to it (for the most part :P )!

It looks like you had a lot of fun visiting with friends and family! That’s awesome. I did have a nice break, though I did get sick so that was kind of a bummer and ruined some plans. Overall, it went well though and was quite relaxing.
