Our June Birthday Bash: Post your very best ReDux recipe for our June birthday and to celebrate eight fabulous years of ReDux. This will be our very last post for ReDux – and we’re going out with a bang!
Apparently it’s been 4 months since my last post for The Recipe ReDux (sorry!), and this month’s is actually going to be our last one ever! The Recipe ReDux was the very first “blog group” that I ever became a part of–I joined back in 2014, when I was a 2nd-year medical student, and I’m now less than a week out from graduating from residency and am heading to “informal graduation” (think resident roasts and other shenanigans) later on today!
The Recipe ReDux Roundup
From my very first contribution of vegan Walnut Oat Patties back in March of 2014, it’s been a lot of fun coming up with different recipes each month(-ish), and I’m sad to see it end, even though I haven’t been participating as much lately. (I swear I’m gonna get back to blogging soon. ._.)
I’ll be taking you back through some of my favorite creations for this group (a trip down food-memory lane of sorts)! (…I have a lot of favorites–don’t say I didn’t warn you.)
Another one of my early recipes were these Gochujang Turkey Mushroom Burgers!
Then we had a partnership with Cabot Cheese and I finally found a way to actually enjoy cheddar cheese (I usually hate cheddar) with…Hot Dates From Farrah (aka Turkey Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Dates)!
This was my healthier spin on my favorite thing to order from a random eatery attached to a gas station out in Ashland, Kentucky, where I was doing my rotations in med school (I’ll be headed back there as part of my road trip!)…Pollo Asado Fries!
I learned about freekeh, which is a healthy grain-like alternative made from green durum wheat, so I made these Tahini Freekeh Power Bowls!
The next three are because Linda and I have pretty much all the same loves when it comes to food! (These were from while I was still living at Please Save A Cat!)
Over short pieces of vacation, my best friend and I would get together to make a bunch of food! I’m super excited that we’ll be living close to each other again in a few months–stay tuned for lots of upcoming cooking adventures! :]
Part of our didactics included lifestyle medicine, where we got to go to the local soup kitchen to learn to make healthier meals with one of the chefs there! These were two of the things we made!
And last, but not least = one of my/my grad school buddy’s cooking creations! We were housemates back when we both first started grad school (also known as when I first started this blog) and I came back here for residency, so we re-met up and restarted our cooking adventures!
