Welcome to our weekly Foodie Friday link up! I’m linking up with Annmarie from the Fit Foodie Mama, Emily from Whatever Floats Your Oats, Esther from Chocolate Runner Girl, and Cassandra from Powered By Bling, to create awesome healthy recipes each week!
This week’s theme = 5 Ingredients + Under! Make sure you hop around to check out all the amazing recipes in this link up and feel free to add your recipes as well!
As a medical student, I am constantly pressed for time, and there are always a billion things I should/want/need to be doing, so I’m a huge fan of simple recipes that don’t take a billion ingredients to make (although I definitely have a number of those as well).
In fact, I actually have a tag dedicated to recipes that take 5 Ingredients + Under. :D Feel free to explore!
About a month and a half ago, my friend and I decided to make a super-quick salad on one of our weekend food prep nights in order to tie us over while everything else was cooking away.
This is probably one of the easiest and quickest salads I’ve ever made, since you can pretty much dump everything into a Tupperware container, close the lid, and shake the hell out of it. (That’s my kind of recipe. <3)
It leaves a rather pleasant afterburn of sorts in your mouth because of the sriracha, but I love it, and it makes me happy how easy this is to whip up on a busy night.
Sriracha Slaw
- 1 package (1 lb.) coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage + carrots)
- 2 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce
- 4 tbsp 0% Fage Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
- Whisk together the Sriracha, Greek yogurt, sugar, and cider vinegar in a large bowl. Stir in the coleslaw mix.
- Consume!
(You can also use 6 cups of shredded cabbage + 1 cup of shredded carrots, if you don’t want to buy pre-packaged coleslaw mix. I don’t have a food processor and enjoy having free time, so I went with the mix.)

Harry and I have been so very robotic with our food lately. We are trying to break the habit of ordering out so often, so we keep it simple to ensure that we will make stuff at home. THIS looks like something right up our alley! Not literally, but yanno.:) Thanks for the recipe, doll!

I’m a picky coleslaw eater. I love cabbage and coleslaw but not the traditional mayo versions as I’m not a fan of mayo. I have a few I make that I like and I bet I can add this one to the list, I can’t wait to try it!
