This is a pretty easy canyon base hike that’s pretty flat and gives you great views! (There’s about one steep section total at the very beginning of the hike when you descend into the base of the canyon.)

You’ll be able to see the San Francisco Peaks off in the distance, as well as grass fields and the sandstone cliffs of Walnut Canyon.
Sandys Canyon Trail ends when you get to the junction where it meets the Arizona Trail, but you can definitely keep going if you’d like! If you turn left (north) there, you’ll reach Fisher Point!

My dad lives in Arizona and we are always looking for new places to go when we visit. The Sandys Canyon trail is a bit far from him, but looks like it’s worth the effort to get there.

    1. If he’s ever in Flagstaff, there’s a whole lot of other places there that would be awesome to visit too! *-* I wanna go back to visit someday!

  3. Oooh nice! You found another gorgeous hike in Flagstaff! I love the trees under that beautiful blue sky. Sandys Canyon Trail looks like a fun workout…plus it’s short enough that you could stop along the way for a lovely picnic. ;)
