Rim Trail from Fairyland Point in Bryce Canyon National Park

Welcome to Travel Tuesday! We’re still in Bryce Canyon this week, this time for a hike down the Rim Trail from Fairyland Point!

Distance: 10.7 miles (out + back)
Elevation: 1587 ft
Difficulty: Moderate
Duration: ~3 hours
Trailhead Address: Fairyland Point, Rim Trail, Bryce, UT 84764
Parking:
Lot available

This is an out + back hike, so we decided to just start the hike from Fairyland Point, then hike our way to Bryce Point and then take the free shuttle back so as to maximize the amount of time we’d have to explore all the things.

Fairyland Point is also the trailhead for the Fairyland Loop Trail. We decided to start there mainly because it was less crowded and we wanted to get more of a workout in. (It’s easier if you go from Bryce Point to Fairyland Point as it’s mostly downhill in that direction!)

Sunrise Point, Bryce Canyon Lodge, and Sunset Point are all pretty close to each other. The trailhead for the Queens Garden Loop Trail is at Sunrise Point, whereas the trailhead for the Navajo Loop Trail is over at Sunset Point. From there, you can see Thor’s Hammer! Between the two points, you can also stop at Bryce Canyon Lodge if you happen to need a bathroom break, snacks, or even a shower.

Inspiration Point is on the lower end of the Rim Trail (although higher in elevation!) and offers great views of the canyon.

We stopped at Bryce Point, which serves as the trailhead for the Peekaboo Trail, and also is the upper part of the  “Under the Rim” trail, a backpacking that stretches for almost another 12 miles!Rim Trail from Fairyland Point | @fairyburger - On the lookout for a slightly less jam-packed trail in Bryce Canyon National Park? The canyon and rock formation views are incredible. I think I would have started at Bryce Point so I could go ‘downhill’.

    1. That’s definitely a popular way to go! We were trying to get into better shape so we figured we’d give ourselves more of a workout, hehehe.

  4. I remember taking the shuttle and then hopping off to hike back around the rim, but don’t remember which point we started from. After climbing up out of Wall Street, I was happy for the relatively flat trail. LOL
