PGY-III Curriculum

Happy Monday, and welcome to Medical Mondays! I’m back to share with you…my third-year schedule (aka PGY-III Curriculum) for residency! My “year” actually started already back in the beginning of July, but I’ve been lagging because there’s been a lot going on.

It’s my last year of residency! The last two years have seriously flown by–it’s hard to believe that I’ll technically be done and a full-fledged doctor (barring any catastrophes) by next June!

  • Urology (2 weeks)

I’m super excited about my schedule because I’m gonna be done with inpatient medicine (minus a couple additional call days) by the first week of February!!! What what?!?!? (…If you can’t tell, I’m not the biggest fan of inpatient medicine.)

This year is also gonna be kinda stressful because of interviews for fellowships and/or jobs and taking my boards in April, but hopefully it’ll all end up okay! <3 I’m trying to finagle free days so I’ll actually be able to go on said interviews and all that goodness. (Please send good thoughts! :P )

On that note, one of our patients saw our headshots in the lobby of our office and decided that we needed an update, so he took professional headshots for all of us! (Such a kind soul! :]! )

Yay for nice lighting!

(Check out my intern year schedule and my second-year schedule!)

  • Guess which rotation I’m dreading the most? :[
  • I’m hoping to work with my former chief resident for sports med in my December rotation (to replace rheumatology), but if that doesn’t work out, what should I do instead!?

I came up with this design ages ago for our class t-shirt contest! :]

  1. That sounds so intense! I like seeing the vacation in there too, though. I know you will figure it all out and come out on top. ;-)

    1. hehe, thank you! I’m really glad the vacation is there too–gives me a chance to destress a bit! :P

  2. This sounds like a whirlwind of experiences! I’m partial to rheumatology because I like my rheumatologist, but I hope your sports med rotation works out.

    1. Thanks! I’m iffy on the rheumatology rotation since it wasn’t ever my favorite subject, but if nothing works out, I might go with it! We’ll see! :P
