Peekaboo Trail and Navajo Loop in Bryce Canyon National Park

Welcome to Travel Tuesday! This is our last day in Bryce Canyon National Park (we’ll virtually still in Utah next week, but elsewhere!) — check out the Peekaboo Trail and another section of the Navajo Loop!

Distance: 5.2 miles (loop)
Elevation: 1453 ft
Difficulty: Moderate
Duration: ~3.5 hours
Trailhead Address: 37.60529, -112.157483
Parking:
Limited (would recommend utilizing the park shuttle system!)

The Peek-A-Boo Loop Trail starts at Bryce Canyon Point and descends all the way to the canyon floor. There are a lot of elevation changes, so if you’re looking for an easy hike, this is not one of em’!
You’ll probably encounter people on mules or horses (or at least their poop!), so please give them right of way.
There’s a small equestrian facility somewhere at the bottom along with an outhouse if nature happens to be calling!
Make sure you don’t miss the Wall of Windows!

Keep going until you reach the “Wall Street” portion of the Navajo Loop. This is where the bulk of the elevation gain (~550 feet) is at, and it’s a pretty steep switchback-laden 0.6 miles back up to Sunset Point! Bryce Canyon is already at ~8000 foot elevation, so you may feel a little more out of breath than you’d normally get at sea level!

Wall Street!

We came here in August, so it was definitely super hot and as it’s kinda a combination of desert/mountain climates, the weather can be variable. Thankfully, we weren’t caught in any thunderstorms and the trails were well-marked so we didn’t get lost!

  1. This is probably just me, but all those amazing rock formations sort of look like natural castles to me, covered in turrets, lookouts and walkways. I love that they have a Wall Street…I think I like that one more than it’s more famous financial cousin! :D

    Gorgeous post as always Farrah!

Ahh I’m jealous! I wanted to add Bryce Canyon to my road trip across the US earlier this year, but we were so anxious to get home we ended up skipping it. I loved seeing your pictures, though, and hope to make it back someday :)

    1. Aww, I feel ya! I was getting super tired of driving towards the end of my road trip so I cut it shorter than I needed to. In retrospect, I now really wish I’d pushed through, haha. I miss traveling so much!

  4. As always, I loved reading your recap and seeing your pictures. We loved Bryce Canyon so much – we visited in 1981 and 2019. I don’t remember our exact hikes in 1981, but we did this one in 2019. In fact, we used a selfie of the six of us at the top of Wall Street as one of the pictures on our Christmas card last year.

    1. Thank you! :]!! It’s such an awesome park! I’m glad you got to do this one! I’m usually terrible with inclines but Wall Street was worth it (and yay for built-in workouts? :P )!
