BY THE WAY, today’s the official start of the #NoExcuses Challenge! :]
-
Hey 2015, it’s me, Farrah (nickname, spirit animal, real name, blog name)!
-
This year I would like to start and maintain a more consistent workout schedule, and motivate myself and others (my preceptors’ patients!) to take the steps necessary to lead healthier and more active lifestyles.
-
It would also be super duper awesome if I also did Tough Mudder in Louisville this year. It’s not a resolution, though, just a reminder to myself to try and have the best year yet because how awesome would it be to say you’d completed one?!
-
The thing I am looking forward to most this year is being one step closer to my dream career by way of audition-rotationing my way through awesome residency programs.
-
I’ll use the one thing that truly gets me out of bed in the morning which is my dreams of badassery to help me get up, get my lifting on, and get after my #NoExcuses 2015.
-
Speaking of excuses (ahem), my
very favoritemost often used excuse is, “But I have to study!” and I have used it to get out of doing anything fun/social and going to the gym on more than 23498152 (number) occasions. -
I vow to move my body and be more healthy this year even if it means I have to stop pressing the snooze button 5-10x/morning.
-
Even if my alarm clock gets eaten by the
dogcat in the middle of the night, I’ll still have 7 more alarms set, unless I walked across my room and turned them all off in my sleep! -
I will stop blaming my second stomach in another universe/hollow leg [ex: kids, dog, husband] for eating the rest of all edible substances in the apartment when everyone knows it was really me.
-
My “job” (unpaid labor; I’m still a student, hence the quotes!) [job, hair, car, husband, kids] are not the reason I make excuses. I will show my job [same as before] who’s boss this year and get my lifting [type of sweaty activity] on
-
I know that practicing Tahitian while studying [type of workout] is better than just lying there next to my space heater [noun].
-
I will reward myself by making deliciously awesome + healthy foods!
-
No Excuses 2015 has just begun and already I am imagining myself a winner. I can’t wait to rock a warm hoodie from Augusta Active. I can’t wait till my sweaty friends are jealous of how fresh, clean and spiffy (adj) I am between workouts with help from ShowerPill body wipes. I can see myself rocking my super awesome deadlifts [yoga pose / workout move] in new Tie One On Leggings [article of clothing from Actio926] from Actio926 and looking fit and fly while doing it. And of course, I’ll be taking my workouts to the next level and improving my current lack of core [noun] with my new ActivMotion Bar to help me train for my next possible-Tough-Mudder (but if not, hello interval training!) [distance] race with Sasquatch Racing.
-
Oh, and let’s not forget how amazing my gi [article of clothing] will smell in my / during my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/kickboxing classes [type of workout] after washing with some WIN Detergent. And lastly, I’ll keep rocking my 2015 with clean eats and nutrition from Beaming with Health!
-
Tag, Tweet, shout-out, call, text, fax or email 3 friends to take this survey and share how they will have a #NoExcuses 2015. Remind your friends to simply fill in the underlined parts!
-
Use the #NoExcuses hashtag and post to win prizes from Augusta Active, ShowerPill, ActivMotion Bar, WIN Detergent, Actio926, Beaming with Health, and Sasquatch Racing.

You’re gonna ROCK that Tough Mudder! If you were a little closer I’d totally do it with you! Maybe sometime we can plan one together (if you’d like a buddy), I’d love to travel a bit for some good races, I think eventually I want to run in every state!
And hey, studying is at least a legit excuse. Unless by “studying” you end up meaning “spending hours on Reddit” or something…

I really hope I can do it! (Unfortunately depends a whole lot on scheduling and all that. :[ ) I have been entirely unsuccessful in coercing my friends at BJJ to do it with me, so I have (as of about 3 hours ago) set my sights on convincing the ladies at the cardio kickboxing class I go to to run it with me!
That’s an awesome goal! If you ever feel like running something in eastern Kentucky within the next 6 months or so, my place is open! :P
I guess it is. Studying usuallyyy means studying (these days, my form of procrastination = all things blog-related ._.). I’ve had to keep myself from ever getting started on Reddit because I know I’d get hopelessly addicted. I’m already pretty bad about it on imgur!
I’m going to try to follow along and do this with you! I’ve been so lazy & need to get on it! I love this!

Yay! That’s awesome! <3 It should be fun!

Tuesday, 1/13: Run or walk for at least 1 mile
Wednesday, 1/14: 10 burpees (any variation)
Thursday, 1/15: 20 squats (any variation)
Friday, 1/16: #FREEFriday - choose something to share and tag #NoExcuses
Saturday, 1/17: share a healthy snack or recipe
Some great goals listed here, Farrah! On my fitness goals this list I definitely want to try stand up paddleboarding and kickboxing at least once. I’ve never tried either. And I want to hike/walk outside/just be outside as much as possible, weather permitting!!

Thank you! :D
PADDLEBOARDING. Ohmicrud, I’ve been wanting to do that for forever!! It looks so fun. :] (Seriously, are you my kindred spirit? :O ) Still haven’t had the chance to, but the hope is still there (maybe this year!? *-*). I want to find a way to take pictures whilst paddling out there. :]!
Kickboxing is super fun! I used to take cardio kickboxing classes at the buttcrack of dawn in undergrad, and recently started that up again (as in…4 hours ago). The bag classes where you really learn to kick/punch are super fun too (amazing stress relief ;P )!
Fingers crossed for super awesome weather! I’d love to be outside as much as possible too!
A Tough Mudder would totally get you the #NoExcuses award in my book!!

haha, thank you so much! I’m really hoping my schedule will allow for it! *-* I think I’d love Tough Mudder if it were just the obstacle courses and none of the running, hahaha. :P
If anyone can do Tough Mudder, it’s you, Farrah! I have faith you would totally smash it. :D

Thanks! :D I’m gonna try! The main deciding factor right now is my schedule, unfortunately, but the whole running part is a very close second. :P
Ha! I’m the originator of the word excuses. But just like you I’m trying to get out of that terrible mentality and trying to do more this year and more! Great post!!!! Good luck! :-)

:O!! For serious? Even if it’s in Louisville? Are you by chance free at the end of June?! It’d be so awesome to meet you IRL! :O
Good resolutions! However, I can’t get on board with Tough Mudder — I’m a scaredy cat and I can’t deal with the fact that you get shocked by live wires. But good for you! And good luck :)

haha, that part does kinda freak me out. I’m hoping if I crawl low enough to the ground, I’ll be able to avoid getting shocked! :P
