Welcome to Travel Tuesday! We’re still in Colorado this week from my 2019 road trip and will be exploring the Lily Lake Loop in Rocky Mountain National Park !
Lily Lake Loop in Rocky Mountain National Park
Distance: 0.8 mile loop
Elevation: 45 feet
Difficulty: Easy
Admission: Free
Parking: Free
Trailhead Address: 40.3064600, -105.5379600
I’d classify this more as a “walk in the park” type of deal vs. an actual hike, but it was definitely pretty! Lots of pretty wildflowers and it’s wheelchair/kid/stroller-friendly! There are restrooms at the trailhead that are ADA-accessible too!
The trail is paved and if you want to branch out, there are a couple sections along the trail that you can veer off to (e.g. the Storm Pass Trail, Lily Ridge Trail).
Apparently you can see tiger salamanders here sometimes! We didn’t see any, but we did see this super cute duckling!
There are picnic tables available every here and there on the trail, so this would be a great place for a picnic or a quick lunch!
You can apparently go fishing here (if you have a fishing license) for greenback cutthroat trout, but it’s catch-and-release only!
- Check out one of my other hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park—the Emerald Lake Trail!
- What’s one of the easiest-and-super-pretty hikes you’ve been on?
- Do you have any travel plans this year?

It looks absolutely beautiful there! The perfect place for a run or picnic stroll!
Agreed! :]!
Nice park. Can you go there with dogs? What are other things to see around there?
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in Rocky Mountain National Park, but there are tons of other trails all over the park to explore!
Looks like a nice park. Can you go there with dogs and what else is there to do around it?
This looks like a lovely spot for a walk or run! I’d never heard of it before.
It’s a gorgeous place! :D
This is my kind of hike! Short, easy walking, but beautiful. Colorado is on my bucket list, and I’ll keep this hike in mind for when I finally get there. Thanks for sharing
Yay! I hope you get to go sometime soon! It’s such a beautiful state. :]

It was definitely a fun trip! :D!
Looks like a beautiful place! All the evergreens are so pretty :-)
Agreed! I need to go back! <3
Such a pretty little trail! I love it!
We have a couple of super easy, packed down trails nearby. Zero elevation, really not too much in the way of offshoots, but they are lovely for some fresh air and green space. I can’t wait to be ready for uneven ground again.
Yay, that’s awesome! Sometimes all that’s needed is a little outdoor time. :]
I’m excited for you! <3!
Looks so beautiful! I’ve got to get out that way!
I hope you get to go there sometime! :]
Such a pretty place for a walk. I love the wildflowers and you can’t go wrong with being by a pretty lake!

Agreed! :] I need to find a place like this nearby! *-*
A “walk in the park” is my ideal kind of hike! haha I love how the trail goes right along the water. The views are gorgeous.
hehe, it was definitely a peaceful hike! :]
We hiked a similar trail last time we were in CO, though I think it was outside the park. So many pretty lake trails!
There were definitely lots of em’–I wanna go back to check out the rest! *-*
