I actually went on this trip 6 years ago. Yes, years. Six of em’. Twas a pre-graduation trip to myself before I graduated from Davis, so I decided to go on the Redwoods Car Camping trip over Memorial Day Weekend with Outdoor Adventures (the outdoorsy club at my school)! Read on to find out more about the Hidden Beach Trail!
“Car camping” is perhaps slightly misleading, because we did in fact stay in tents. I only kindasorta knew 2 other people going on the trip because we were in the same major (yay for EXB!), but that didn’t really matter–it was a ton of fun!
We had a pre-trip meeting to discuss logistics and what to pack, and we also discussed where we wanted to hike.
Hidden Beach Trail (Coastal Section) in Redwoods National Park
Distance: 7.8 miles
Elevation: 1390 feet
Trailhead Location: Lagoon Creek Parking Lot
Difficulty: Moderate
Parking: Park at the visitor’s center! (We just parked at our campgrounds.)
Since I rarely ever got to see the beach (living in Davis with no car or license will do that to you), it was a welcome sight. We found some flat rocks to chill on and eat snacks before continuing.
The hike we did after this one is arguably one of the most beautiful hikes in the country! <3 (I might be a little biased.)
- What’s your favorite thing to see when you’re hiking?
- Longest hike you’ve ever been on? Where was it?

I think we should hike the Appalachian Trail sometime together! The adventures of Rebecca and Farrah taken to the outdoors! That would be so cool!

My feet/legs are definitely kinda sore after super long hikes, but it’s so worth all the pretty views! <3!

What a beautiful place to explore! <3
The longest hike I've ever been on was only like 2 hours – but I really want to go on a super long hike one day as I could walk for days :P I just love walking and seeing what's around me!

I’ve always wanted to do this hike after a friend told me about it. Saving for when I do.

Ooo, I hope you have fun when you go! :]
Lol I was so confused by the term car camping when we first moved here – I thought it meant you sleep in your car! But (now I know it means you park close to where you sleep) it makes a lot more sense. I love that this camping style means you can bring a pillow and extra luxuries because you don’t have to carry them very far.
The hidden beach looks gorgeous! It’s kind of cool seeing water photos from you- I am so used to your posts in beautiful deserts!

Haha, I used to be really confused by that term too but going on that trip helped me learn the vocab. 🤣
There will be more watery photos when I get to the CA portion of my road trip/travels! I still have a long way to go to finish up on the rest of this road trip (somewhere in May of next year, hehe).
