Welcome to Travel Tuesday! If you’ve never been to Yosemite National Park, you definitely should go someday! I’ll be taking you on a hike to Bridalveil Fall this week!
Bridalveil Fall Trail in Yosemite National Park
Distance: 0.5 miles (out +back)
Elevation: 85 ft
Difficulty: Easy
Duration: <20-30 minutes
Trailhead Address: 37.71657,-119.65117
Parking: Lot available
The Bridalveil Fall Trail gets a good amount of foot traffic, but it’s an easy + quick walk and brings you to a beautiful viewpoint of the waterfall.
I’d strongly recommend against scrambling up the rocks (not pictured!) for a better view. The rocks can get super slippery and people have died/gotten seriously injured in the past! Dogs are allowed but must be leashed.
The rest of these photos are from close to the Swinging Bridge Trail near lower Yosemite Falls! It’s part of the Cook’s/Sentinel Meadow Loop Trail. I didn’t actually get to the swinging bridge part (oops).
This was mostly because, despite my best efforts, I wasn’t able to finish off all the snacks in my car. I was worried a bear would destroy my car in its efforts to steal my food, so I figured staying relatively close to my car (and thus, the parking lot) would be a better idea.
I found a peaceful place to sit and polish off some more snacks while taking in all the beautiful scenery around me. :]
There are loads more hikes in Yosemite that I’d love to get to do someday. Before this visit, the last time I was actually here was when I was 12 years old (for science camp)!
- Have you ever been to Yosemite National Park?
- What do you like seeing most on hikes? For me, it’s definitely waterfalls! Check out some of my other waterfall hikes in North Carolina, New York and Pennsylvania!

Thank you! It’s such a gorgeous park to visit!!
There seem to be so many waterfalls called Bridal Veil! I can think of one near us, as well as at least two more in the Canadian Rockies. I guess whoever named them thinks of brides when they see splashing waters down a cliff! This one must be a very tall bride!
p.s. Good work on the snack munching! I hope you managed to avoid sharing them with bears in the end. ;)
haha, that same thought crossed my mind! (Definitely super tall brides though. :P )
Thankfully I did! My car survived the journey! :]
I had another thought- maybe they were thinking of the falls when frozen…then they are even more like a veil..
You have a really good point there! I think I’ve seen a Bridalveil Falls elsewhere and it was in a snowier/icier region so that’s definitely entirely possible! :O

I’ve been to Bridal Veil Falls before and it’s gorgeous! Lately, I’ve been chasing a lot of waterfalls in Minnesota and it’s been awesome. Spring is definitely the best time for it!
Yay, that’s awesome! There are so many gorgeous parks over there that I’d love to visit someday! *-*
This looks like an amazing place to visit, I am for sure adding to my list!
Yay! I hope you have fun! :]

We missed out on this hike when we traveled to Yosemite earlier this summer as they were working on the area. Thanks for the great pics. I get to see what I missed and now wish that the waterfall had been open to the public.
Aww, darn! I’m sorry you didn’t get to see this one, but hope you got to check out some other cool spots while you were there!!
