Face

Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash

Best Travel-Friendly Skin Care Products | @fairyburger

Spoiler alert: I reallyyyy love this cleanser. *-* To use this, you shake a small amount into the palm of your hand, add water to mix it into a lather, then gently massage it into your face and rinse. It makes my skin super super soft and smooth and cleans my skin without stripping it of its already not-so-great moisture (I need to drink more water…).

I should probably note that this comes in the form of white powder so if you look kinda shifty and take it out of its original container to travel with it…well, who knows. For the record, I had no trouble bringing it through and wasn’t stopped by anyone suspicious of me harboring drugs.

5/5, $5.48 on Cosmetic Love (purchased on sale)/ $8 on Amazon

If facial cleansers in powder form are not your thing, fear not! I have two other forms you can try!

Neogen Real Fresh Cleansing Stick Green Tea

This has a light, refreshing scent and little bits of green tea leaves in it for very light exfoliation (also, yay for antioxidants + anti-inflammatory properties!) To use this, just twist the bottom until the cleansing stick comes up and apply to wet skin in soft, circular motions to help massage it into your skin. Then you use lukewarm water to rinse off. It’s able to work up a pretty good lather on the skin and doesn’t feel drying or abrasive at all. I’ve been on 2 weeks of night shifts and didn’t feel like bringing in a liquid cleanser so I’ve been using this in the call room bathroom and it’s been doing pretty well for my skin!

5/5, $10.45 on Cosmetic Love /

TONYMOLY Pro Clean Smoky Cleansing Stick

This has charcoal powder to help cleanse the skin, as well as shea butter, coconut oil, and grapseed oil. Like the green tea stick cleanser, you also apply this to a damp face, massage it into your face until it turns into a lather, then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Since I very rarely wear makeup, I can’t speak much for its ability to wash that off, but this one’s also a great alternative to liquid cleansers if you’re traveling or on the go (e.g. gym, long long work days, etc.)!

4/5, $6.86 on Cosmetic Love /

Movis (Facial Cleanser)

This thing looks like an nondescript piece of weird bread. (Sorry that I don’t have a picture of it. I ate it. I finished it before I thought to write this post.) Its name was inspired after an iconic British bread (Bovis). It’s rich in vitamin E, which is an awesome antioxidant that’s great for your skin (and hair, for that matter).

When you apply it topically, it interacts with your skin cells to neutralize free radicals + speeds cell regeneration, so it’s often used in skin care products for anti-aging, scar-healing, and acne. It also has breadcrumbs in it (whatwhat), hence all the bread references. I try to make it last as long as possible by keeping it in a little tupperware to keep it dry + to avoid water from splashing on it when I’m not using it! TSA should not stop you for a cleanser that looks like a piece of bread.

Sheet masks

I’ve talked about sheet masking before in a separate post, but these are especially travel-friendly since they’re individually packed! Just grab a couple and throw em’ into your travel bag! I’ll probably be putting together a post on my favorite sheet masks at some point!

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

Wonderful for spot treatments and one of my favorite discoveries ever. I get 1-2 lovely (and by lovely, I mean super annoying) acne spots about once a month and these are absolutely amazing to have around. Just stick em’ onto whatever pimple/zit you have that’s brewing/raging and by morning, it’ll look infinitely better.

Skin

Honey Bear (Massage Bar)

Honey Bear, $9.95 at LUSH

This bar is adorableeee! Although this is marketed as a massage bar, I use it like a solid lotion bar instead. Works either way! It was limited-edition for Mother’s Day and has fair trade cocoa + shea butter and almond oil in it and smells absolutely amazing! It makes my skin super smooth and I love how moisturizing it is. :]

5/5, $9.95 at LUSH.

Wiccy Magic Muscles (Massage Bar)

Wiccy Magic Muscles, $12.95 at LUSH

Since I’m trying to get back into a fairly regular workout schedule, I’ve been spending my days kindasorta sore more often than not. Aside from fair trade cocoa butter, shea butter and aduki beans, this also has peppermint and cinnamon oils in it, which make your skin feel all warm and tingly–perfect for the days after a workout to help with delayed onset muscle soreness! (I’m actually working on a small research project right now about DOMS!)

4.5/5, $12.95 at LUSH.

Each Peach And Two’s A Pair (Massage Bar)

Hoorayyys for citrus!! I use this as a solid lotion bar as well–it’s made with cocoa butter, shea butter, avocado and mango butter and (assuming that you like citrus…) smells amazing! It makes my skin super smooth, although since it’s on the more-moisturizing side, I’d possibly stick to before-bedtime use since it does leave a slight sheen on your skin (it does rub in pretty quickly though!). I store it in a tin in my fridge because it can get melty in the summer months!

5/5, $11.95 at LUSH

Scrubee (Lotion Bar)

Scrubee, $7.95 at LUSH

You know I love bees and honey! <3 It has the same scent as Honey I Washed My Hair and is made of fair trade organic cocoa + shea butter, honey, and ground coconut + almond shell for alternating stripes of moisturizing + exfoliating. (Tthe shells are probably a bit too rough for the skin on your face, so don’t use it there!) To use it, just massage it into your skin, then rinse and pat dry.

My skin’s on the dry side, and this was moisturizing enough that I could tell it was there, but not enough that it left an oily sheen or anything. Of the solid lotion/massage bars, this was the most affordable and the cutest. :D (Tis also the only one I’m talking about today that exfoliates–reminiscent of Buffy, but less expensive + smells even better.)

5/5, $7.95 at LUSH.
