This is perhaps a little random, but I think our school building looks kinda like a bunker. Almost all our time in class is spent down in the basement, other than in anatomy lab! Speaking of that, we had a power outage during our last anatomy lab while we were dissecting out the kidneys. Best time ever for a power outage. >_> But we prevailed and our brains are all intact.
This is the story of the past week-and-a-half-ish. I have not paid for a single meal this week. I haven’t paid for a single meal, but I haven’t been eating at home very much either. Why and how is this, you ask? A collection of free lunches/dinners/leftovers that basically equate to the fact that I need not buy groceries until next year unless I want to.
-Lunch (gourmet subs)
-Dinner “#1” (salad, bread, boneless salmon with dill sauce, lemon chicken, pasta, roasted potatoes, green beans, chocolate-dipped strawberries, chocolate, mousse, assorted fruits)
- Since there were so many leftovers, I basically had free lunch, dinner, and study fuel for the next two days, along with enough salad to last me til the end of next week
- 2 giant salad/future mixing bowls + a tray that’ll be perfect for potlucks
- $25 Macy’s gift card
-Dinner #2 (pizza with halal meat)
-T-shirt
-Long-sleeved shirt
I’ll be including pictures of most of the highlights, along with some random things. :O
My shirt! :D!
This is my favorite picture in the entire graduate school building. :D <3 that look of contentment.
Technically speaking, I don’t gamble, but I learned how to play Texas Hold’em two weeks ago (and managed to be among the final three in our “tournament.” This is sheer luck because I bet all my chips without even looking at my cards). Anyway, amongst one of the free dinners (to welcome our new dean), they had Casino Night, and we each got $400 in chips to play, so I figured…why not? It’d cost me nothing. From $400, I ended up with $1865, thus landing me in 3rd place for winnings, so I got a $25 gift card to Macy’s. ;) Hells yes!
One of them free lunches! They’re leftovers from dinner the night before, but it included all kinds of awesomeness.
This is the salad bowl I mentioned. My backpack is in the background for reference. I had 1.25 bowls’ worth of this salad to bring home. <3
Festive statues outside our anatomy lab! I put the tiny red bear back into his hand. (Someone keeps misplacing the bear. :[ )
Christmas tree in NY! :] (Just to get into the holiday spirit.)
