Welcome to Foodie Friday! I’ll be linking up with Annmarie from the Fit Foodie Mama + Esther from Chocolate Runner Girl–this week’s theme = Vegetarian! I went the drink route and will be sharing a 5 ingredient Apple Chai Latte recipe!
My recipe for this week fits a lot better for last week’s apple theme, but…better late than never (and this recipe is still vegetarian, so there!)!
I don’t know about you, but I don’t often go to coffee shops–this is due in part to the fact that I very rarely even drink coffee, but…it’s also because I’m always trying to save money, and coffeeshop drinks tend to be $4-5 a pop, which can definitely add up pretty quickly!
The hospital I work for built a Starbucks into the atrium a little less than a year ago though, and some of my friends gave me gift cards, so every now and then, I’ll treat myself to a chai latte or something to that effect. I’m running low on said gift card funds though, so I figured I’d try to make my own!

End-of-Week-ish Recap!
- Like I mentioned last week, it’s been a fun time lately trying to miss as little work as possible while still managing to go on interviews. I flew out to CA from NJ on Wednesday evening and am catching a red-eye flight back this morning, so fingers crossed for no flight delays, because I have a full day ahead of me consisting of research time, our weekly didactics, and game coverage for a local-ish high school football team!
- I’m headed to the Gluten-Free Allergen Friendly (GFAF) Expo tomorrow! Check on my facebook and/or instagram for updates! :]
- What’s your favorite coffee shop order?
- Coffee or tea?

Have fun at the expo tomorrow! Certainly can’t wait to hear about that. My family used to own a coffee shop, those drinks are SO WAY OVERPRICED! You are smart to make your own at home.
Thanks! :] I’ll definitely be writing up a recap about it! :]
haha, they’re so good, but agreed on the overpriced-ness! :[! Gotta save money somehow! :O
This looks delicious and I cannot wait to make it!
Aww, thanks! :] I hope you like it!!
Interesting idea to add the apple cider in there!
I recently got a jug of apple cider, so I figured I’d try to make some stuff with it! :]
Yum! looks like such a yummy way to start my day
Hope you like it! :]
Love how easy it is to whip this up! It’s basically fall in a cup!
Yes indeed! :]!
This looks really good! I also don’t drink coffee, but I do occasionally like a chai latte. I will see if I can find the ingredients.
Hope you like it if you get a chance to try it out! :]
This sounds really great, I love the apple cider addition. I don’t go to coffee shops much either although I am an avid coffee drinker. I really only drink plain old black coffee so it’s much cheaper to just make it at home. Once in awhile though I love having a little fancy chai from places like Starbucks too.
That’s definitely cheaper! I usually save my coffee-drinking for long drives! I’m definitely with you on home options though! :D
