2017 Holiday Gift Guide

Since this is a healthy living lifestyle blog, this 2017 holiday gift guide is geared toward fit foodies and self-care for those “treat yoself” moments! I’m working over the holidays this year so I’ll have to live vicariously through all of you! If you’re stumped on ideas for presents this year, keep on reading! :]

2017 Holiday Gift Guide

For the Fit Foodie…

1. Aftershokz headphones

These are, hands down, my favorite pair of headphones ever. I got them a year ago and use them all the time (mainly whilst walking to/from work and when I need to talk on the phone for extended periods of time).

2. Clothing from prAna

Comfortable, functional, sustainable and stylish clothing from a company that supports amazing causes–what’s not to love?! prAna is responsible for my favorite pants on this planet (the Jenna pant)!

If you want anything from prAna, use my code (FAFA15) to get 15% off (ends on 11/22)!

3. A subscription to Gixo

The first month is free, so you have nothing to lose, especially if you might be traveling during the holiday season but want to stay on top of your workouts! (Check out my review to learn more about Gixo!)

4. A Hydroflask water bottle

I feel like I talk about my Hydroflask water bottle way too often (my potluck group in med school was unofficially named “the hydroflaskers” [or we D.O. food] because we all had one…), but I love it! It’s amazing with cold or hot beverages and I’ve had my first one for 5 years now…and just got a second one (bigger size) earlier this year!

5. Cookbook

Do you know how much money you can save from cooking your own meals at home? (Frugal living ftw!) I’ve included my top 6 favorites from my cookbook reviews over the years–check out the links below if you want more in-depth info on my picks!

6. Isolator Fitness Meal Prep Bag vs. Lunch Bot Container

You’re going to need something to carry all that food you’re making! I love my Isolator Fitness Meal Prep Bag for longgg days at the hospital/clinic, but if you don’t have to pack a day’s worth of meals with you, look into getting a Lunch Bot Container!

Self Care/Treat Yo’self

1. Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence

I’ve been getting most of my skin care products from BeautySesh because I have a slight lean toward Asian skincare/beauty products–they have super fast shipping, amazing customer service, awesome products, and the free samples with each order definitely don’t hurt! ;P (+ you can get 10% off with my referral link!)

One of my newest finds = Skinfood’s Royal Honey Propolis Essence! Skinfood is the very first brand I ever tried back in 2007 when I first delved into the world that is Asian beauty products (I love their BB cream!).

Skinfood Honey Propolis Essence | @fairyburger

Royal Honey is aged honey that goes through a 60-day fermentation process in the beehive so it has less water filler. Propolis is often used for its healing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and restorative capabilities and can help to accelerate the rate of cell growth. (It’s been in use as far back as 350 BC by ancient Greeks to treat abscesses + by Assyrians to help heal wounds.)

I use this to pack an extra punch after my nighttime moisturizer and I love how hydrating it is. A little goes a long way–3 drops covers my face/neck, and it has a slightly-thicker-than-water consistency. Not gonna lie–I also adore the packaging. By twisting the cap to open it, the dropper automatically draws up the essence, and you press the button on the lid to dispense it. I’m reallyyy hoping that after I run out of this, I can repurpose this container because it’s awesome. *-* (I’m terrified I’m going to drop it and break it though–it’s glass.)

2. Clarisonic Mia 2

I wrote a review about this fairly recently, so I’m just gonna direct you there! Definitely a splurge item, but a useful one at that!

3. CosRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask

If you’re feeling adventurous, check out the CosRX Snail Mucin Cream/Essence! …and if not, that’s totally okay. You can try out this rice mask instead! You apply this to your face before you sleep (the last product you put on) and wash it off with lukewarm water in the morning. It leaves your skin suuuuuper soft! (Get 10% off your order with my referral link!)

4. Moon Valley Organics

moonvalleyorganics

Moon Valley Organics was an Expo East find! They’re based in Seattle (you can find em’ at the Pike Place Market!) that sells honey, medicinal salves, soaps, lip balms, and lotion bars! I love their Bergamot Geranium Lotion Bar! (Solid lotion bars are perfect for travel! :] )

I love that they donate some of their proceeds to help with pollinator awareness + bee education (bees are important!).

If you use my referral code to make a purchase, we each get 20% off!

5. Sheet Masks

there are so many to choose from! If you’ve never tried a sheet mask before, start with the DERMAL Collagen Essence Masks! At 65 cents each, they’re a great + inexpensive way to delve into the world of sheet masking, and you can choose a mask based on your skin care concerns! (My personal favorites are Green Tea, Hyaluronate, Royal Jelly, and Snail!)

6. Little Moon Essentials

littlemoonessentials

This was another Expo East find! Little Moon Essentials is a company based in Colorado that makes natural bath/body products. They offer bath/foot salts to mists, body/foot lotions, massage oils, sugar scrubs and lip balms. All their products are made with organic ingredients and are cruelty-free!
