Well, that was a rather trying time.
If I’ve never mentioned the process behind how we get our base sites for third year, it’s a pretty simple process, and is basically equally unfair to everyone. There are a certain number of spots open at each base site. If the amount of people that want to go to that site is equal to or under the amount of spots they have, you’re safe. If not, you go to lottery and basically end up in Logan if you don’t get chosen in the lottery for that site.
It’s really stressful in the sense that there is absolutely nothing you can do, and the mock signups tell you nothing, since people have all these weird “strategies” or randomly change their minds and dick you over on the day of.
However, it all turned out okay! All the couples in my class got to stay together and I think(?) all the families got to reunite or go/stay where they needed to. My group got really lucky as well, and I think the situation for us turned out to be the very best it could have been. All four of us made it into our first choice, so we do indeed get to stay together! :]! We signed our contracts on Monday night.
