Avoiding Chapped Lips with MyLipStuff

Remember how I talked about the importance of hydration and the awesomeness that is the invention of LVL?

Well, warding off/avoiding chapped lips can also be partially fended off by awesome chapstick!

I’m probably not going to need lip balm again for the rest of my life. :O …although truth be told, I’ve never made it to the very end of a single tube of chapstick because I always lose it before then. Maybe this time…

my lip stuff

Yay for lip balm! :D! + tis the season for hot beverages so I made myself my own coaster for my mugs of hot tea! I haven’t sanded it down or finished the wood yet but the pyrography part is done!

MyLipStuff‘s mission is to “end the suffering of people with chapped lips all across the land” and Brea strives to end animal testing and save the environment with chemical-free natural products. She also tries to use recycled and recyclable materials whenever possible.

There’s even a line of “Charitabalms” where 50% of the proceeds go to companies against animal cruelty that she’s partnered up with!

All of this appeals to my granola-girl tendencies, and I like supporting smaller (vs. corporations) businesses, but although I’ve known of MyLipStuff for about 9 years now, I never placed an order until April of 2014.

Why is this, you ask? Because I’m one frugal son-of-a-gun. They’re really not even very expensive,  but I talked myself out of it every time (“Do you really need this to live, Farrah?”)

I’ve been on Brea’s mailing list since 2007, and there was an Earth Day sale a couple years back that I finally decided to take advantage of. It definitely didn’t hurt that she has an entire list of stackable coupons/discounts.

For $49 ($9 of which goes to charity), I got two reusable foldable tote bags and 26 lip balms! I’m all set on mini-gifts for the future! :O

Breakdown of the flavors I got are listed below (she has > 600 options). If you can’t tell, I really like smelling like a fruit. I keep one in every white coat/jacket pocket and bag I have on me. :P

  • Passionfruit-Orange-Guava (self-explanatory) – You already know I love POG from this recipe
  • Peach-Mango (self-explanatory)

  • Mixed Mystery #3
  • Horchata (Easter limited edition)

Orders over $25 ship free and there are “sample” orders available if you want to buy just 1-2 and don’t want to have to pay a ton for shipping. I received my order in 3 business days. :]

I’m somewhat curious about these, but it’ll probably be a decade before I get to order em’ because it’s now about 1.5 years later and I’m still working through them! :O

  • Yoga (Lime, tea tree, orange & ginger)
  • Zombie (Pineapple, orange, lime, sugar, rum)
  • Orange Creamsicle
  • Apple Raspberry

P.S. This is not a sponsored post. I just figured that since it was getting close to the holiday season, this would be an awesome option for stocking stuffers or mini-gifts for others! :D

  • Have you ever finished an entire tube of lip balm before losing it? Teach me your ways!

Can’t wait to try! I am currently addicted to Burts Bees…it’s just the besttttt.

    1. Yay for Burt’s Bees! I like em’ too, but I’m probably all set on lip balms for the next several years! :P

  4. Oooh these lip balms look good.

I totally feel like I never make it through a lip balm because I have SO MANY that using the same one over and over seems silly, haha!
