2015 Goals Revisited #BehindTheBlogger

Dear 2015 Me,

To-do lists rock my world, so I guess it only stands to reason why I have so very many of them. Since it’s pretty much the end of 2015 (where has the time gone!?), let’s see what you’ve managed to accomplish this year!

2015 goals revisited

Here are the contenders!

Fitness Goals For 2015

…you definitely didn’t get very far on this one because 3rd and 4th year blew up in your face. Who knew medical school would take up so much time!?!? (I kid, I kid.)

But you did manage to kindasorta do 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9, so…better than nothing! The “what you can, when you can” philosophy and popping in on dance/BJJ classes wherever possible during your travels throughout clinical rotations/auditions will have to suffice for now! (Tis a great way to stay healthy while traveling on a budget!)

Mostly eating healthier + dragging around a water bottle (affiliate link!) everywhere seems to have helped too, so there’s that! Hooray for celebrating small victories–thankfully, that has not changed!

2015 Goals

Well, you definitely made the most progress on this one, which works well because medical school consumes so much of your life!

Life (Also Known as “Medical School”)
  • Finish revamping my CV. Done!
  • Ask for and compile LOR’s (letter of recommendation). I got 6 letters! :]
  • Set up my 4th-year rotation schedule! Two rotations still pending, but fingers crossed that they’ll be approved!
  • Pass both of the second parts of my medical licensing exams!
  • Interviews for residency programs that I adore would be lovely, because I’d really like to have a future. <3 I’ve done 15 interviews thus far!
  • A scholarship would be awesome too, because I want to give my student loans a big (or small, I really don’t care as long as it’s something!) kick in the face! I actually managed to get one! Two scholarships!!! :D!!!
Blogging

You didn’t do quite so well in the blogging category, but…priorities, m’friend! You did manage to…

101 in 1001

You’ve made pretty substantial progress on this one, and you still have a whole year left to go to finish the rest of them! :D I think it’s going to be pretty do-able! A bunch of your goals are more along the lines of continuous lifestyle changes you wanted to incorporate, or fairly long-term goals that annual resolutions just didn’t really cover, hence the appeal of 101 in 1001! (Remember the one you had from 2011-2014?)

I broke them down into different categories (Health + Fitness, Giving, Academic/Career, Budget/Finances, Learning/Hobbies, Travel, Family/Friends, Purchases, Food/Blog-Related, and Miscellaneous/Fun)!

Next year’s a big one for you! You’re going to be done with school (…21st grade) forever (I find this terrifying and exciting), and in a couple months, you’ll know where you’re going for residency! I know you’re going to end up where you’re meant to go, but I’m with you–I can’t help being impatient too. I’d love to know now! *-* But hooray for being that much closer to finally becoming a doctor! :D

  16. Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog! I love your blog. Kudos for you going to med school! That is awesome. 1. Hello and thank you! :] I’m sorry for the confusion–I did a couple 2015 goals posts earlier this year that I linked to in my post! The text was supposed to be a little bigger (I fiddled around with the header stuff) but it didn’t quite work out that way! :O
